Enviroschools is an Auckland council initiative that promotes schools to reflect on their sustainability practices. After reflecting on how well the school fits into the five guiding principles (Māori perspectives, respect for diversity, empowered students, sustainable communities and learning for sustainability) the students will decide whether their school is worthy of a bronze, silver or green gold award.
Currently, Kristin sits at silver but in June this year, Kristin will undergo another reflection process to try and rise up to green gold. The CoS has set up a ‘Green Gold Reflection Team’ in hope of achieving this. With the team, we work on highlighting our recent sustainability-related successes and looking for possible improvements that our school can make for the better.
There will be more updates on our progress throughout the semester but for now, the CoS and Green Gold Reflection Team look forward to helping Kristin possibly achieve something amazing!
