As we are witnessing some rapid and alarming changes in the world, it’s important to stay emotionally coherent, and strive to develop a sustainable response for the future. Here at The Upcyclers, we value love and sustainability, and the youth’s power in making an impact on the planet and to inspire more people to join. About 30 passionate Kristin students from Middle and Senior School were involved in the process, collectively we illustrated our love and support on a big MDF board. We used magazine paper to create origami flowers to promote the concept of “upcycling” as an important solution for the future.
The “Art for Hospital” project is an initiative we are taking to show our gratitude and support for the healthcare workers in our community. 2020 has been an overwhelming year for everyone, but it has put immense pressure on healthcare workers, and proposes the threat both physically and mentally. We want to send our message of love and support, to help them in one way or another, to stay positive for the upcoming half of the year. If you would like to send more personal messages to the healthcare workers, send your message to @theupcyclersnz on instagram, or email 41271@kristin.school.nz if you want to contribute more.
